Asia Gallery is open 6 days a week
Tuesday - Sunday: 10am - 5pm
We are currently closed on Mondays.
There is a lot to see, and our visitors can spend hours here! Short visits are welcome too.
Asia Gallery is at 67 Maurice Road, Penrose, Auckland.
There are many options for getting to us, from public transport links, to access off the motorway:
Travel by train or bus
From Britomart, or any other stop along these train lines:
Take the Onehunga line for a 25 minute journey to Te Papapa Station, then a 10 minute walk or 5 minute cycle to the Gallery
Take the Southern line for a 22 minute journey to Penrose Station, then a 20 minute walk or 10 minute cycle to the Gallery (or catch the 66 bus towards Pt Chev for 2 stops and get off at Station Road/Maurice Road, then walk 10 minutes to the Gallery)
Take the Eastern line to Panmure Station, then catch the 743 bus towards Onehunga and get off at Church Street/ Mount Smart Stadium (a 3 minute walk from the Gallery)
Travel by car
Asia Gallery is easy to reach off both the Southern Motorway/SH 1 and the South-Western motorway/SH 20. We have plenty of car-parking spaces at the gallery, with further on-street parking available if needed.
The main entrance is currently up a set of five short stairs. Alternative/level access can be arranged through our roller door - please call us to let us know if this will be needed, and we will make sure the space is ready to welcome you. Once inside, the Gallery is an open, level surface with wide, flexible aisles.
Assistance dogs are always welcome.
There is an all-gender toilet available in the Gallery, through the entrance to the left of the main door.
Children are welcome, though as we do have many small and enticing pieces around the store, we ask that younger children are supervised. Breastfeeding is welcome here too.
The Gallery is usually calm and peaceful, with a quiet soundtrack, and filled with bright colours. It can get very busy with visitors, particularly around midday. It’s worth noting that the space can become very cold in winter, and very warm in summer. Come prepared for Auckland weather.
Places to eat/nearby attractions
There are a number of great cafes and coffee places within a five minute walking distance of us, including Miscela Coffee Roastery (turn left and head to the other end of Maurice Road - the cafe is 500 metres to the right ) and Dilly’s Cafe and Bistro (turn right, then right again at the intersection onto Church Street - the cafe is 200 metres on the left).
It is also only a short drive or bus, or half hour walk to Onehunga, well worth a visit for more wonderful cafes, great opshops, and other independent stores.
